Welcome to the Pediatric Residency Program at Floating Hospital for Children at Tufts Medical Center!
Floating Hospital for Children is a tertiary care children’s hospital located in downtown Boston. Floating Hospital is the leader of a unique health system for children, called the Distributed Academic Model, that focuses on high quality, cost effective, patient and family centered care.
Many of our faculty provide care to children in the community setting and at Floating Hospital for Children. This model leads to an enriching experience for our residents, providing them with unique educational and learning opportunities that give them insight into the experiences of patients and practitioners in both settings. It also gives us a seamless ability to transition patients in a patient-centric way.
Our residency is most proud of our close knit community of health care providers and staff. The residents and staff work collaboratively to learn from each other and to improve care for children and their families. We provide care for a diverse population of patients and complex diseases which prepares our residents for both primary care pediatrics and subspecialty fellowship training.
As a resident here, you will gain a strong foundation in general pediatrics, followed by individualized training and mentorship so that you can achieve your future career goals. We excel in training physicians of today in skills such as quality improvement, patient safety, team based care and translational research. The residency leadership are dedicated to being innovative medical educators and we are proud of our curriculum, the family atmosphere at Floating, the close relationship between faculty and residents, and, most importantly, who our residents are and who they become.
Thank you for your interest.
