Welcome to the Pediatric Residency Program at Floating Hospital for Children at Tufts Medical Center!
Floating Hospital for Children is a tertiary care children’s hospital located in downtown Boston. Floating Hospital is the primary referral center for a unique health system for children, called the Distributed Academic Model, that focuses on high quality, cost effective, patient and family centered care.
Many of the Floating Hospital faculty provide care to children in the community setting, both in inpatient and ambulatory settings. This model leads to an enriching experience for our residents, providing them with unique educational and learning opportunities that give them insight into the experiences of patients and practitioners in the community and at the tertiary call center. It also allows for a seamless transition of patients back to their primary providers.
Our residency is most proud of our close knit community of health care providers and staff. The residents and staff work collaboratively to learn from each other and to improve care for children and their families. We provide care for a diverse population of patients and complex diseases, and our residents are well prepared for both primary care pediatrics and subspecialty fellowship training.
As a resident here, you will gain a strong foundation in general pediatrics, alongside individualized training and mentorship so that you can achieve your future career goals. We excel in training physicians of today in skills such as quality improvement, patient safety, team based care and translational research. The residency leadership are dedicated to being innovative medical educators and we are proud of our curriculum, the family atmosphere at Floating, the close relationship between faculty and residents, and, most importantly, who our residents are and who they become.
Thank you for your interest.
