Cystic fibrosis is a complex disease that requires expert attention. The highly trained physicians and nurses at Tufts Medical Center’s Floating Hospital for Children have the skills and experience to provide exceptional care for patients with this chronic condition. Our location within a major academic medical center allows us to offer the full spectrum of diagnostic and therapeutic options, including cutting-edge treatments that have proved to be life changing for many patients with cystic fibrosis.
Additionally, our clinicians are at the forefront of exciting research into several different aspects of the disease, and our patients who are eligible to join one of our clinical trials may have access to novel and promising therapies. At the same time, the small size of our Cystic Fibrosis Center means that we can provide individualized care to our patients—and build close, lasting relationships with you.
Although you’ll always see the same dedicated physician at the Cystic Fibrosis Center, we work with an entire multidisciplinary team of experts, including endocrinologists, gastroenterologists, pediatricians, and other specialists. This approach allows us to offer a wide array of services, including pulmonary function testing, respiratory therapy, chest physical therapy and pilocarpine iontophoresis (sweat testing), as well as psychological support, nutrition counseling and social service assistance. It’s all part of our mission to help patients with cystic fibrosis not only manage the condition, but also thrive.
