Overview

The expert team in the Division of Pediatric Nephrology at Floating Hospital for Children provides comprehensive evaluation and treatment for the range of metabolic abnormalities. These disorders are caused when the chemical reactions that your body uses to break down food and liquids are disrupted. 

The major metabolic abnormalities that we treat include: 

  • Renal Tubular Dysfunction
    • Renal Tubural Acidosis
    • Fanconi's Syndrome
    • Bartter's Syndrome
    • Gitelman's Syndrome
    • Metabolic Alkalosis
    • Polyuria
  • Disorders of Dehydration
  • Uric Acid Disorders
  • Mitochondrial Disorders (in coordination with the Divisions of Genetics and Metabolism and Cardiology)
  • Electrolyte Abnormalities (such as SAIDH)
