H. Cody Meissner Lab

H. Cody Meissner, MDDr. H. Cody Meissner’s research has focused on various approaches to the development of protection against respiratory viruses, particularly RSV. Studies have involved a number of types of passive immunization including standard immune globulin, hyperimmune globulin and humanized monoclonal antibody preparations for protection against RSV.

Dr. Meissner has participated in the design and execution of Phase I, II, III and IV trials involving different types of vaccines, including recombinant vaccines, combination vaccines and live attenuated vaccines. Intravenous, intramuscular and topical routes of administration of globulins and antibodies have been studied.

Dr. Meissner has also led investigations into the etiology of Kawasaki syndrome, particularly in regard to the role of superantigens and the role of passively administered antibody.
