Due to COVID-19 and until further notice, we are unable to see walk-in patients in General Pediatrics in Boston, Brockton and East Bridgewater locations. If your child is sick, please call to speak with a nurse. The clinic is open regular hours (including evening and Saturday) for prescheduled well-child and sick visits.

Getting your child off to a healthy and happy start begins with finding the right pediatrician. At Floating Hospital’s General Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine clinic, our physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses and social workers pride themselves on developing a close relationship with your entire family and being there through all the important milestones in your child’s life. Our providers get to know each family and their individual and social needs. Members of our group are available to our patients 24-hours a day to answer questions or assist with medical concerns. We provide a Medical Home with a multidisciplinary team to help coordinate the medical and nonmedical needs of your child.
Well Child Care
Primary care visits should be scheduled at least one month in advance, to ensure that you can see your own doctor. If you need a check-up sooner, you may see another member of the practice. You should try to arrive 15 minutes early for your appointment, so that all the requisite paperwork can be done before the visit. For a healthy child with no problems, there are generally six well child visits in the first year, three in the second year, and then a yearly visit after age 2.
What we offer:
- Routine checkups
- Camp, school and sports physicals
- Care for acute health problems
- Management of chronic conditions
- Developmental and behavioral assessments
- Assistance with school problems
- Referrals to subspecialist when needed
- Coordination of hospital and specialty care when needed
- Interpreter services
Our adolescent program can continue to follow your child until he or she is 24 years old. This allows continuity of care in a familiar environment through the teen years up into early adulthood. In addition to comprehensive primary care, special services of the adolescent program include: advanced acne treatment, gynecologic and reproductive health care, substance abuse counseling and referral, and chronic illness management in a multidisciplinary setting. The adolescent practice is located on the third floor of the Floating Hospital. This separate location provides a more adult atmosphere for our patients, thereby fostering an experience of ownership and responsibility for their own health and well-being. Providing accessible, quality health care to the children of the local community is the mission of the Pediatric and Adolescent Asian Clinic. Our staff provides a culturally sensitive and friendly atmosphere for our Asian patients and their families. Learn more about our Asian services here.
We offer a lead poisoning clinic and a diagnostic clinic for our pediatric patients which are staffed with our top pediatricians. Learn more about our clinics here.
Same Day Sick Visits
For non-emergency situations, we can see your child the same day, or give advice to help your sick child without a visit. We encourage parents to call ahead Monday through Saturday for an appointment. Same-day visits will generally be with our resident physicians, working closely with your child’s regular provider and colleagues.
Saturday Sick Visits
The weekend can be very long if your child is not feeling well; that’s why we offer appointments to care for sick children from 9 am–1 pm every Saturday.
