Floating Hospital for Children has a long tradition of providing surgical care for children with heart disease. Our dedicated team cares for kids who are born with heart defects (congenital disease) and those who develop defects after birth (acquired disease).
To treat childhood heart issues, our team offers patients access to some of the most advanced techniques and technologies available. We have a state-of-the-art pediatric cardiac catheterization lab which helps our physicians make accurate and safe assessments before surgery. We also offer advanced diagnostic imaging including echocardiography, CT scan and MRI and innovative procedures in our operating room.
Our cardiac surgeons have pioneered techniques for repairing complex cardiac issues in infants and children. Specifically, our pediatric cardiothoracic surgeon has special expertise in evaluating and treating children with cardiac arrhythmias and circulatory support system defects.
What Sets Us Apart
What sets our program apart is the individualized attention that your child will receive from our Chief of Pediatric Cardiology and Chief of Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery. In addition to our senior congenital heart surgeon, our team consists of dedicated specialists including cardiac anesthesiologists, operating room nurses, cardiac intensive care nurses, heart lung machine specialists and physician assistants.
The team works together to help your child have the best possible outcome so that he or she can get back to being a kid. We also provide comprehensive care for your child throughout his or her lifetime, transitioning from pediatric into adult cardiology care at Tufts Medical Center.
