Directions during renovations
Renovation of the street and Plaza level started Monday, August 26 to modernize the space and enhance the experience for patients, their families, visitors and staff from the moment they enter our doors. When all of this work is done, Floating Hospital entrances, lobbies and corridors will be transformed.
The priority was to develop the construction plan in phases to ensure safety and cause the least amount of disruption to patients, visitors and staff in the busiest areas of the hospital. During the first phase of the project, the street-level entrance at 755 Washington Street (the small, blue vestibule) will be closed. Construction barriers will block both the inside and outside of this entrance into the fall. The outside entrance to MRI also will be closed. It must be reached through the inside entrance only.
Directions to get to street level clinics and MRI
To reach General Pediatrics Clinic, Pediatric Neurology Clinic or MRI, enter the Tufts MC Atrium Lobby at 800 Washington Street (across the street from Floating), then take the Atrium elevators to the 3rd floor. From the Atrium elevators, go left past the stairs, then left again at Chop’d and Top’d and the Pharmacy. Follow the hallway over Washington Street to the elevators with the red doors (on the right). Take any of the elevators down to the street level.
For those who are able to use stairs, the stairs from the Floating Street level to the Plaza level will be available 6:30 am to 6 pm, weekdays and 6:30 am to 1:30 pm on Saturday.
Once on the Plaza level, take the elevator one floor down to reach the clinics and MRI. No one with assistive devices or strollers should use the stairs.
