Payment
Tufts Medical Center accepts third party payments from most HMOs, PPOS, and private health insurances. Some require referral authorization prior to your child’s visit. Others require a primary care referral from your local pediatrician. Please obtain any needed referrals or insurance approvals prior to your visit to the Tufts Medical Center International Adoption Clinic.
While medical visits are covered by medical insurance as specialty appointments, some insurers do not routinely cover developmental evaluations. We continue to seek coverage for this portion of our assessment through insurance agencies, as well as for reimbursement of individual cases and visits. However, parents may be responsible for these costs in some cases.
