Gastroenterology and Liver Clinic

The Pediatric Gastroenterology Liver Clinic provides comprehensive consultations and evaluations of infants, children and adolescents with gastrointestinal and liver diseases. When indicated, the visit will include consultation with the physician, nutritionist and social worker. The clinic is responsible for the initial evaluation and diagnosis of a patient as a candidate for the liver transplant procedure, and works pre- and post-transplant to help young patients with severe liver dysfunction.
Following surgery, patients are seen in conjunction with the transplant service in order to help monitor the medical, nutritional and psychological needs that are special to the pediatric patient. Throughout the process, we act as a bridge between the transplant team, the patients’ family and primary care physician.
