The Child Protection Team
The mission of the child protection program is to provide the highest standard of clinical care to the hospital's victims of child abuse and neglect; to provide expert consultation and training for the hospital's multidisciplinary staff and trainees; to prevent child maltreatment in all its forms; and to foster the development of collaborative programs with community agencies.
Floating Hospital’s Child Protection Team (CPT) provides consultations around issues pertaining to the safety, protection and well-being of infants, children and their families. The CPT includes representatives from the Department of Social Work Services, Pediatrics, Nursing, Psychiatry, Quality Support Services, Child Life, Chaplaincy and the Legal Office.
The Role of the Child Protection Team includes the following:
Provides consultation by phone through on on-call pager #7233(safe). The pager can be consulted monday-friday 8:30-midnight and Saturday and Sunday noon-midnight.
Inpatient and outpatient medical evaluations of child maltreatment cases in all of its forms and consultations to health care professionals, social service agencies, the courts, and law enforcement are provided by Dr. Robert M Reece. For appointments call 617-636-5241 and ask to speak to Dr. Reece.

Tracks, reviews and collect data on all 51-A's filed by Tufts Medical Center staff.

Collaborates with the Department of Social Services and the Children's Advocacy Center.
