Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Clinic

The Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Clinic serves children and adolescents with a variety of psychiatric disorders which have a medical component.
Such disorders include:
- Pervasive developmental disorder (PDD)/Autism
- Prader-Willi
- Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
- Tourette’s syndrome
- Organic brain disorders
- Head trauma
- Somatoform disoders
We also treat patients with serious medical problems, such as Lupus, Cystic Fibrosis, diabetes, leukemia, juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, or organ transplantation, who also have significant psychiatric problems.
These patients and their families have difficulty coping with their chronic medical illness and treatment. Our staff works closely with pediatricians and other health care providers, as well as parents, schools, special residential placements, pediatric nursing home facilities and other community health and mental health services to maintain the patient out of the hospital.
Comprehensive psychiatric diagnostic assessments as well as individual, family and psychopharmacological interventions are provided.
