The practice of Pediatric Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (Pediatric Physiatry) provides comprehensive diagnostic, evaluative, and continuing disability management services for children and adolescents with neurological, neuromuscular and musculoskeletal disorders.
After physiatric evaluation, treatment may include the following:

Splint, brace and prosthetic prescription and training

Physical and occupational therapy

Electrodiagnostic testing (electromyography and nerve condition studies)

Neuropsychologic testing

Speech and hearing consultation
In-depth comprehensive pediatric disability evaluations resulting in management recommendations, durable equipment prescriptions, and therapy plans are conducted on an outpatient basis or through limited inpatient stays for medically complex and technology-dependent children.
