Pediatric Neurology Program Conferences
Core Concepts- Every Monday at 12pm. This is a series of didactic lectures designed to survey topics relevant to the practice of pediatric Neurology with strong integration with basic neurosciences.
Neuronatal Research- First Tuesday of every month at 12pm. This conference focuses on current research in fetal and neonatal neurology and is designed to facilitate development of research activity by faculty and fellows.
Critical Thinking- Second Tuesday of every month at 12pm. This is a discussion of selected reviews about interpreting published articles, understanding statistics and designing clinical research studies.
Chief's Rounds- Third Tuesday of every month at 12pm. This two-hour teaching conference is focused on evaluation of a patient by faculty in order to demonstrate important principes of interview and key techniques of neurologic examination.
Boards & Wards- Fourth Tuesday of every month at 12pm. This is a high-yield review conference designed for those preparing to take Board Examinations (USMLE Step 2 for students or ABPN for fellows).
Neuropediatric Imaging- Every Wednesday at 11am. During this conference, MRI and CT images from patients seen during the previous week are reviewed with neuroradiology faculty and fellows.
Pediatric EEG- Every Thursday at 10am. This teaching conference is based upon reviews of recent neonatal and pediatric EEG and video EEG studies.
Interdisciplinary conferences:
Brain Tumor Conference- Every Tuesday at 9am. This is a patient-based conference for developing consensus among oncologists, neurologists, neurosurgeons, neuroradiologists and neuropathologists.
Neuroscience Grand Rounds- Every Thursday at 9am. This is the major teaching conference for the Division of Pediatric Neurology, the department of Neurology and the department of Neurosurgery with each discipline sharing in the annual schedule.
