Dr. Douglas Hyder, MD
I’m a general pediatric neurologist with interest in neuro-oncology, headache and tic disorders. I’m originally from the Chicago suburbs and I graduated from The University of Chicago college and medical school. My pediatric training was done at The University of Chicago and my pediatric neurology training was done at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. As the Director of Ambulatory pediatric neurology I’m actively involved in our outreach clinics and in medical student, resident and fellow education. When not working, I split my time between homes in Boston and New Hampshire with my wife and three teenage children. |

Dr. Tomo Tarui, MD
I earned M.D. from Keio University School of Medicine in Tokyo, Japan. After completion of Pediatrics Residency in Keio University, I pursued to developmental neuroscience research at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston MA. My research was focused on analyzing the mechanism of cortical development in fetal period using transgenic mouse. After completion of my postdoctoral project, I pursued to clinical training: Pediatrics Residency program at Maimonides Medical Center, NY, and Pediatric Neurology Fellowship at Children’s Hospital Boston, Harvard Medical School. My clinical and research interest in neurological diseases in fetal and neonatal period led me to additional two years of fellowship in Fetal-Neonatal Neurology at Children’s Hospital Boston.
I joined to the Floating Hospital for Children which have been a tremendous experience for me. Being as a member of the Floating Hospital, I hope to contribute to the children and their family by development of the Fetal-Neonatal Neurology Program in close collaboration with astonishing Department of Obstetrics and Division of Newborn Medicine. We aim to provide best and comprehensive care to all babies with neurological concern starting in fetal life and improve their life-long outcome.
My research involves genomic and transcriptomic analyses of neurological disorders that present during fetal life, such as brain malformations. My research also involves to quantitative analyses of fetal neuroimaging using computer analysis of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) in various conditions such as Twin-Twin Transfusion Syndrome (TTTS), prenatal brain injury and brain malformations. By integrating both genetics and neuroimaging approaches, my group aims to establish a new comprehensive approach to evaluate the fetal brain which may advance prenatal care.
With my family, I love to visit orchards and farms around Boston, making short trips to the shore and mountain of New England. Passion with jazz music, arts and good food! |

Dr. Ju Tang, MD, PhD
I got my MD and PhD at Beijing Medical University and joined Children's Hospital Boston / Harvard Medical School for my postdoctoral research training in neuroscience. Several papers were published in prestigious peer-reviewed biomedical journals like JBC. I had my Pediatric Residency at Miami Children's Hospital and Pediatric Neurology Residency at MGH / Harvard Medical School. After that, I re-joined Children’s Hospital Boston / Harvard Medical School for a Clinical Neurophysiology / Epilepsy Fellowship. Now, I am very excited to join the Floating Hospital for Children at Tufts Medical Center and make my contributions to Child Neurology / Epilepsy / Clinical Neurophysiology through my clinical practice, education, and research. I also hope to benefit the patient population in Chinatown with my native language. During my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family. I like reading, music, travel, and outdoor activities. |

Kristen Padulsky, PNP
As a nurse practitioner in the pediatric neurology department, I have the opportunity to work with children and families who come to our clinic for a variety of concerns. I find my job particularly enjoyable when I am able to build relationships with patients over several visits, and help them manage symptoms that might otherwise interfere with their lives. I also enjoy seeing patients in their communities, at outreach clinics in Chelmsford, Lawrence and Woburn. One area in which I have developed a special interest, is caring for children with headaches. I also enjoy working with adolescents and spending time providing education to families. As a nurse practitioner, I am able to utilize my unique training to work with patients, families and healthcare providers as part of a multidisciplinary team to streamline care. I grew up in the Boston area and did both my undergraduate and master’s training at Boston College, Go Eagles! I also spent time last summer at the National Institute of Health where I learned strategies to incorporate a foundation in genetics into nursing practice. When I'm not hard at work, I enjoy running and spending time with my family, friends and my dog Mit. |
