Neurosurgery

We provide comprehensive evaluation, treatment and follow-up care in the management of all surgical diseases of the nervous system in children. Our special interests include the treatment of tumors and vascular disorders of the brain and spinal cord as well as congenital disorders of the nervous system. Fiberoptic endoscopy is available for the management of hydrocephalus, congenital cysts and intraventricular tumors.

Neurosurgeons perform major craniofacial surgical procedures in conjunction with a team including plastic surgeons and otolaryngologists. Pediatric neurosurgeons participate on the Myelodysplasia Clinic team, and are involved in the ongoing management of children with congenital abnormalities of the spinal cord. A comprehensive program is available for treating spasticity, which includes selective posterior rhizotomy as well as other medical and surgical options.
