We require an application using NRMP.
Required Documents via NRMP
Please include the following with your application (through NRMP):
- Application
- 3-4 letters of recommendation (LoRs)
Must include:
- One letter from your residency program director (if you are a resident at time of application)
- One letter from a pediatric faculty member
Strongly suggested:
- One letter from a neurology, neonatology or critical care specialist
- Personal statement including a description of career goals and research interests, information about what you find attractive about completing a fellowship at the floating hospital would also be helpful.
- Current curriculum vitae
- Medical student performance evaluation/Dean's letter
- Wallet-size color photograph
- USMLE transcripts or COMLEX transcripts (transmitted by the NBME)
- ECFMG status report (only for International Medical Graduates)
International/Foreign, Canadian and osteopathic medical graduates should consult ERAS for application instructions.
Please note:
· We only sponsor J-1 visas and H1-B visas
· We do not have USMLE score requirements, nor do we have a cut off for number of years since graduating medical school. We consider each application as a whole.
· Invitations to interview will be sent after October 1.
Scheduling an Interview
After the applications are reviewed, selected applicants will be invited by email to interview. The large number of applications precludes us from offering interviews to all applicants. Interviews are held in October, November and December. A choice of dates is available and every effort is made to accommodate applicants.
The Interview Day
You will be welcomed by the Program Director. Each applicant will then have two or three faculty interviews of approximately one half hour each. A fellow will meet with you and take you on a tour of the Floating Hospital. You will enjoy a lunch with our current fellows to discuss the program and life as a resident in Boston -- all in a relaxed and warm atmosphere.
