THE DIVISION OF PEDIATRIC GASTROENTEROLOGY AND NUTRITION
The Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition is committed to provide outstanding inpatient and outpatient consultative services, follow-up care, support and education to patients and their families with complex gastrointestinal disorders including:
- Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease
- Inflammatory Bowel Disease (Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative colitis)
- Food allergies, aversion and intolerance
- Celiac disease
- Organic and non-organic failure to thrive
- Liver disease
- Gastro enteropathies
- Initiation and management of enteral and parenteral feeding
- Overweight /obesity
- Malabsorptive disorders
- Mitochondrial disorders
- Expertise in GI issues of physically disabled and developmentally challenged patients
The Division also diagnoses and treats:
- Acute (e.g. hepatitis, drug hepatotoxicity) liver disorders
- Wilson's disease
- Alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency
- Bile salt abnormalities
- Cholestatic syndromes
- Biliary tract and gall bladder disease
- Pancreatic disease
- Neonatal disorders of the liver and gastrointestinal tract
