Echocardiography Lab

                        ECHOCARDIOGRAPHY LAB    

The Echocardiography Lab in the Heart Center for Children at the Floating Hospital performs approximately 2,500 studies per year. The Lab is certified by the Intersocietal Commission of Accredited Echocardiography Laboratories (ICAEL).   All aspects of cardiac ultrasound are done by expert pediatric echocardiographers and supervised by echocardiologists, Dr. Mark Zilberman and Dr. Liwen Tang. Studies include transthoracic echo, transesophageal echo (usually done during cardiac surgery), and fetal echocardiography. By these examinations it is possible to non invasively evaluate the structure and function of the heart.   The Echocardiography Lab staff is involved in research including evaluation of right ventricle function (by "30 Speckle Tracking") in children with high blood pressure.
