Radiation Oncology

We offer comprehensive therapeutic services for pediatric patients with all types of malignant disease. We stress the interdisciplinary nature of the management of most pediatric malignancies. Patients are seen in consultation with pediatric oncologists and surgeons whenever appropriate, during which time the use of radiotherapy in conjunction with other types of treatment is discussed.
Division physicians offer special expertise in the management of brain tumors, including medulloblastoma, with a combination of post-operative radiotherapy and multi-agent chemotherapy. We also use stereotactic, interstitial and radiosurgical techniques to boost the dose of radiation to brain tumors in selected patients.
Our treatment facilities include two linear accelerators (linacs) offering 6, 10, 15, and 25 MV photons with a wide assortment of electron energies. We offer Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), Image-Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT), Stereotactic RadioSurgery (SRS) and Stereotactic Body Radio Therapy (SBRT) as well as intraoperative brachytherapy and interstitial and intracavitary treatments.
Preferred parking and valet parking are available for pediatric patients receiving radiation therapy treatments as outpatients.
