In Pediatric Hematology/Oncology we provide complete hematologic and oncologic services for children with blood disorders and malignant disease.
Our team of physicians have collaborated to develop unique protocols for the aggressive treatment of cancer, including autologous bone marrow transplantation, in our new state-of-the art, Neely Bone Marrow Cancer Center. They promise innovative approaches of providing greater comfort and support during treatment experience.
At Floating Children's Cancer Center our interdisciplinary management of pediatric cancer patients, extends to working closely with pediatric surgeons, radiation oncologists, nutritionists, and any number of health care providers to direct attention to the specific needs of each child in our care.
The Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology has received grant-funding and national recognition for its novel patient and family centered care. This funding supports programs such as, Child Life and Parent Consultant in both our clinic and hospital.
Our superb team of hematologist/oncologist provide expert diagnosis, treatment and follow up for children with hematologic disorders. Hemophilia, vonWillebrands disease, Thalassemias and Sickle Cell disease are treated by specialists providing the newest and most effective treatments to date.

Research Affiliations and Efforts - As a full institutional member of the Children’s Oncology Group (COG), a prestigious national clinical consortium affiliated with the National Cancer Institute, the division conducts ongoing research and is a major test center for new anti-cancer agents being released by the NCI. Research is under way in coagulation, lymphocyte physiology, red cell disorders, treatment of neuroblastoma, high-grade brain tumors and symptom control.
