Gifts of Real Estate

Donors may avoid a capital gains tax on appreciated property by making a gift to Tufts Medical Center of real estate that they would like to sell. The gift may be all or a partial interest in the property, which may be a residence, vacation home, farm, ranch, commercial, or developed lots, whether or not it produces income. Property may be transferred directly to Tufts Medical Center or it may be used to create a trust.
