The Tufts Medical Center and Floating Hospital for Children Social Work Services Department, was established in the early 1900s and is one of the oldest hospital social work departments in the country. Today we are an integral part of your child's healthcare experience, offering the following services:
- Individual and family counseling
- Education
- Crisis intervention
- Support groups
- Resource information
Social workers are available to patients and families before, during, and after hospitalization. If you or your child wishes to speak with a social worker regarding any of our services, please call the Department of Social Work at 617-636-5136, 8:30am - 5pm, Monday through Friday. After these hours, if you or your child needs to speak with a social worker on an emergency basis, please let the staff know and they can contact the social worker on call. |
